Momentum Triathlon Academy Launches Four-Year Strategy!
We're excited to share our first-ever Strategic Plan (2024–2028), a bold, four-year vision for the Momentum Triathlon Academy that reflects our commitment to inspiring, empowering, and supporting young people aged 12–24 through the sport of triathlon.
This strategy, built around the Olympic cycle from Paris 2024 to LA 2028, outlines how we’ll grow as an organisation and deepen our impact by using triathlon as a powerful tool for improving physical and mental wellbeing, increasing participation, and supporting young athletes to perform at their best, both in sport and in life.
Right now, physical inactivity is one of the biggest health challenges facing young Victorians. Sport participation in Victoria drops steeply after the age of 14, with just 17.9% of 20–24-year-olds still involved in organised sport. For young women, the decline is even sharper.
We’re here to play our part in changing that.
The strategy is built on five key goals: promoting lifelong health and wellbeing through initiatives like Get Active, Stay Active; co-creating inspiring, accessible experiences such as our Active in Nature Series; increasing participation by breaking down barriers for young women and para-athletes through programs like Tri-Cycle and our Junior Race Series; developing a performance pathway that supports aspiring elite athletes with coaching, scholarships, and international exposure; and ensuring long-term sustainability by building strong partnerships, funding streams, and leadership opportunities for young people.
Whether you’re an athlete, a parent, or someone passionate about young people’s health and potential, this is your Academy too and we’d love to hear from you. What opportunities do you see? How can we collaborate to bring this vision to life? Reach out to Chris White (chris@momentumtriathlon.com) or Sam Janssen (sam@momentumtriathlon.com) and let’s have a chat.
